common sense belies the purpose of such a project & expenditure just to serve one subdivision in orient, esp. when SCWA CURRENTLY PROVIDES AN ADEQUATE SUPPLY OF WATER TO THE SUBDIVISION.  IS ANYONE ELSE ASKING FOR HELP?  HOW MANY OTHERS, TO JUSTIFY THE UPHEAVAL, EXPENSE & ENDANGERMENT TO THE LANDSCAPE & CHARACTER OF THIS COMMUNITY?  

SEEMS TO ME, THIS IS AN ISSUE FOR PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY - WE SHOULD HEAR THEIR VOICES! RUNNING A PIPELINE ACROSS THE CAUSEWAY WILL IMPACT ALL OF US, NOT JUST THE BROWNS HILLS SUBDIVISION.

My wife and I have 3 acres and a house on the CauseWay and access to Dam Pond whose north shore (Trumans Beach) we walk on just about every day we are out here (about 3 months per year).  Dam Pond is a remarkable ecosystem that most local residents (and probably SCWA) are not all that familar with. For example, a rare form of Sea Lvender (on the EPA's protected list) grows on its north shore which is also home to a colony of fiddler crabs which number several thousand. The pond is home to innumerable inedible horse-mussels which filter the pond's waters so other aquatic animals and plants can thrive there. It is a very delicate ecosystem and I worry about the potential impact of the water main on its stability, particularly if the local zoning is changed to allow Orient's population to grow.  Dam Pond is connected to Orient Harbor via a narrow channel at the western beginning of the CauseWay. I estimate that, because of tides, about a billion gallons of water flow into and out of Dam Pond in the course of a year; all of it through that narrow channel.  Presumably, the water main will tunnel under this narrow salt water channel and I wonder if SCWA has thoroughly considered the impact this will have on Dam Pond's water. With global warming and melting glaciers it is projected that sea levels will rise about a foot in the next decade and I also wonder if SCWA has thoroughly considered what this implys for the structural stability of the water main they have so aggresively pushed forward. Finally, as I understand it, all Federal Simulus Funds that are used for construction and development cannot result in projects that don't conform to NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act, 1969). I think this means that SCWA needs to conduct some sort of environmental impact study if it's going to use stimulus funds to help build the water main.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod's. It works well, but isn't as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that's not an issue, but if you're planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod's larger screen and better browser may be important.

I think there are a few moral responsibilities that go along with this. Think about it - in the world today, corporate corruption has gotten out of control in the United States and put the whole system in jeopardy. It's amazing how something so straightforward as your topic can lead a person with power to make complex and often incorrect moral decisions daily. I'd like to see you do a follow-up that discusses the moral implications with this as I  feel that not enough people discuss this  aspect of our society. Sorry to rant, I just feel strongly about this.
